During a multi-million pound refurbishment of a local clients office site, we were asked to help with their plans. Due to the work involved with refurbishing multiple buildings within their site, the main catering facilities had to be out of action and with 4,000+ hungry mouths to feed, they needed a plan… Seventa to the rescue! We provided a street food market on the company’s site. As this was a long term project throughout the refurbishment, we switched the traders weekly to keep the offering fresh and we were able to give people something new and exciting every week.
Two of our converted shipping container catering units were dropped into the site for the entire duration. These units are fully kitted out with catering facilities allowing one to be set up as an Italian roasterie serving delicious Italian coffee alongside wood fired pizza, fresh pasta dishes and salads. The second unit was set up as East meets West with several Indian themed dishes, Thai themed dishes and even a Kamado Joe smoker grill.
Alongside the two shipping container units we also had local traders come in with their trading vehicles/mobile facilities. Examples included converted ambulances, converted Citroen H2 vans, converted horseboxes and more.
The project for us included a lot of infrastructure planning, such as building a shared external hygienic wash up area for traders to utilise including delivering fresh water supplies to site, waste water management, and electricity supplies. With over 4 tonnes of fresh and waste water being used weekly from traders.
We also handled all logistics for each trader, working around standard office opening hours to get traders in and built each week. Deliveries had to be coordinated with strict timings and within the rules of the site.
Kicking off in March this year, the Street Food Market has hosted some of the best street food Dorset has to offer. From Pad Thai to Italian Coffee, Mexican Burritos to freshly grilled BBQ meats, we had them all. Check out some of the amazing traders we worked with below.
This was a great project to work on, and employees at the site loved having so many options of incredible food on their office doorsteps to choose from each day! The area had outdoor seating areas so guests could relax and enjoy their break(s) with colleagues.
We are sad that this project is coming to an end after 38 weeks and over 20 local companies trading. It has been great to be able to work with so many local businesses.
We love doing Street Food pop ups, long term and short term. If you have an event you need help with please contact us at [email protected] or give us a bell on 01202 237 433.
