Three Day Conference and Award Ceremony

Yesterday was the last day of a three day conference we helped organise. It brought together colleagues from all across the UK to take a look at how they were performing, along with plans for 2014.


Since the ’silly season’ (Christmas) ended, we’ve been pretty busy planning for this conference and the others taking place later this month. Offering a ‘full event planning & management’ service for such an event compiled;

  • Sourcing and booking the right venue and accommodation for the event
  • Negotiating the best rate possible for our client
  • Organising all catering and beverage requirements for throughout the three days
  • Compiling the full three days plan and timings
  • Organising and booking an after dinner guest speaker
  • A full custom AV installation including conference set, breakout syndicate rooms and an awards ceremony set up with disco afterwards
  • On site event management throughout the three days

The delegates time was split between the main conference room and three break out rooms; all of which required a full AV, sound and lighting installation for presentations and speeches etc. The main room also doubled up as the venue for their annual award ceremony, which required a sharp turnaround from conference room to awards show.

Awards ceremonies have become an essential event on the calendar for a lot of companies and there are some small touches that will make a big difference. For example, guest speakers can be extremely motivational and we were lucky enough to be able to book Will Greenwood, from England’s Rugby World Cup winning team, for this event. He spoke about how the team had pulled together in the five year run up to the World Cup Final and some of the tips they used to make them the winners they became. The small changes they adopted enabled them to beat a team that they had been comprehensively beaten by (96-0) only five years before and how the same attitude could apply to all walks of life.

The conference has all finished now and whilst we pack away the delegates have made their way back to the four corners of the UK with some extra motivation for the year ahead.
